Presentation of the Web Bankruptcy Project
ZAGREB - The project "High
Commercial Court of the Republic
of Croatia -Web
Bankruptcy" was presented in the Government yesterday. It should ensure
complete transparency of bankruptcy procedures and allow potential buyers in Croatia
and abroad simple access to information on bankruptcy assets offered for sale.
The project concerns a specialized bilingual (Croatian
and English) web page which follows bankruptcy procedures led before all
commercial courts in the country.
The web page, inter alia, offers an overview of bankruptcy regulations,
information on bankruptcy judges and trustees as well as photographs, land
registry excerpts and value estimates of the assets sold in bankruptcy
proceedings.
The Minister of Justice Ana Lovrin stated that this is
another step in judicial reform and prevention of corruption through
establishing a more efficient and transparent public administration.
She emphasized that the project was realized in
cooperation between the Ministry and the non-governmental association Judge's
Web and that it did not burden the state budget since all the costs have been
fully covered by foreign donations.
The President of the High Commercial Court of the Republic of Croatia Srdan Simac pointed out that
this is "a world unique project fully envisioned and implemented by domestic
intelligence". Simac expects that the presented web page will facilitate
the sale of bankruptcy assets for which, in his opinion, there will be more
potential buyers than now.
The idea for the project came
from the judge of the High Commercial Court Mario Vukelic and the project was
technically implemented by Judge's Web.
