Project "Judges Web"

vecernji_list_19062000.jpgLast Thursday Microsoft Croatia hosted the presentation of the "Judges Web" project, expected to improve the judicial system in Croatia. As pointed out by one of the authors of this project, Mr Drazen Komarica, "Judges Web" is supported by the Ministry of Justice and several international institutions and Microsoft Croatia has provided help with their expertise and software support. The main goal of this project is to enable entering and browsing of selected documents from court practice. There is work in progress on a web-oriented centralised database, audio-visual communication and videoconferencing. A system of group calendar and conference scheduling is also under construction. The project has been supported by USAID, by the American Embassy in Zagreb, CEliLl and some other institutions.

For the time being, the project is in the pilot phase involving a couple of courts from several counties. However, if there is sufficient financial support, it can be expected that this problem area will finally be solved.
