Association Judge's Web announced information linking of courts

vjesnik_06052000.jpgZAGREB, 5th May - The Ministry of Justice expressed its positive appraisal of the Judge's web project that has been trying to implement the most recent information equipment into operation of Croatian courts, especially placed in regions struck by the war with the help of the UNSAID. It was stated by Drazen Komarica, the president of the association Judge's web and Bozidar Rumenjak, the Deputy Minster of Justice on Friday, after a meeting in the Ministry of Justice.
The idea to support the operation of Croatian courts starts with small courts and comprises courts from Vukovar, Vinkovci, Sistak, Glina and Beli Manastir", said Komarica adding that on the example of small courts the efficacy of the project will be estimated. For the project that will last for 18 months, he continued, we have a support of the American Congress and the USAID that has already donated 10 percent out of 250,000 American dollars representing its estimated price. Komarica explained that five courts will be interconnected through information technology and that a data base will be created to enable easy surveys of court practices. He added that exactly those courts have been selected since they have "specific subject matters bound to returning of refugees and expatriates".
"The project will serve for improvement of the whole judiciary system through implementation of the most recent information technologies'', concluded Rumenjak. Municipal Courts Presidents from the places comprised by the project were also present at the meeting (A.F.).
