Decisions of the High Commercial Court of the Republic of Croatia
17th March 2009 – Judges web and the High Commercial Court of the
Republic of Croatia presented mutal project – „Decisions of the High
Commercial Court of the Republic of Croatia“. The project of
publication of court decisions of the High Commercial Court of the
Republic of Croatia on the internet is realized in accordance with
National program for fighting corruption 2006-2008 and represents
strong anti-corruption measure. Data base of court decisions and web
application, which was financed through funds of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, are being continually
supplemented.
At this moment public has
access to 1GB of data, that is 21,603 of the second degree court
decisions of the High Commercial Court of the Republic of Croatia and
1,148 of the first degree court decisons of Commercial Courts that are
connected to the second degree court decisions, wich make this data
base unique in the Republic of Croatia. Presented web application
enables, among other things, simple and precise search of decisions,
based on more than 4,500 key words and paremeters that were suggested
by the judges of the High Commercial Court of the Republic of Croatia,
and the same Court has reassured delivery of the first degree court
decisons to the Commercial Courts. This project enables an overview of
the most recent practice of the High Commercial Court and other
Commercial Courts and through it, the first degree court decisions and
the second degree court decisions in specific cases were made available
to the general public. In this manner, transparency of work of courts
and judges, possibility of public control and as well an exploitation
of data base in scientific and research, and as well educational
purposes on the faculties of law is being intensified.
The value of
this project was recognised by the Ministry of Justice under which
sponsorship this presentation took place, with participation of the
Minister of Justice Mr. Šimonović and as well the president of the
Supreme Court, Mr. Branko Hrvatin and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of
Norway to the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Terje Hauge. With his presence,
Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Croatia,
Mr. Robert Bradke gave his support to this project.
