Agreement on Cooperation signed between the Internal Affairs Ministry and the Judges Web

Today the Agreement on Cooperation was signed at the Internal Affairs Ministry between the Internal Affairs Ministry and the non-governmental organisation Judges Web. The Agreement was signed by Minister Mr. Tomislav Karamarko on behalf of the Internal Affairs Ministry and the Chairman Mr. Dražen Komarica on behalf of the organisation Judges Web.

The cooperation envisaged by the Agreement refers to the realisation of two projects: “Digitalisation of instructions and directions for police work" and "On-line Police Stations”. The realisation of these projects was facilitated with the assistance of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This is why her Excellency Mrs. Nienke Trooster, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Republic of Croatia, attended today’s signing of the Agreement.

Considering that the Dutch support was realised through the Memorandum on Cooperation between the Central State Office for e-Croatia (e-Hrvatska) and the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, signed in 2008 with the aim to assist the Government of the Republic of Croatia in the implementation of reforms in the field of judiciary and internal affairs through the development of a modern information infrastructure, the Chairman of the Central State Office for e-Croatia also attended the signing of the Cooperation Agreement.

According to information of the Internal Affairs Ministry, the idea for the projects emerged one year ago on the basis of the Report on the progress of the Republic of Croatia. In cooperation with the Police Directorate of the Internal Affairs Ministry the need for a unique and comprehensive digitalised list of instructions and directions was established. Also, the need for increase transparency of police station work was established, at the mutual benefit for the employees of the Internal Affairs Ministry and the citizens. The established needs will be realised through the signed Agreement on Cooperation.

Through the realisation of the projects “Digitalisation of instructions and directions for police work" and "On-line Police Stations” the Police Directorate of the Internal Affairs Ministry will receive permanent ownership of computer equipment and the development of software solutions in accordance with their own instructions and guidelines.
